Abstract

simple technique for the production of mechanically durable water-repellent layer on polyester fabric via coating using silicon rubber was reported. Depending on the silicon rubber solution concentration, it was achievable to gain surfaces with hierarchical morphology. Extracted silicone was admixed with toluene which was applied successfully onto polyester fabric. The surface characteristics of the coated polyester fabric were studied by scanning electron microscope, energy dispersive X-ray analysis, as well as static water contact and sliding angle measurements. All the factors and measurements are included in this paper.
