Peer Review Process

Peer review process

Peer review exists to ensure that the Journal of Textiles, Coloration and Polymer Science publishes good research that benefits the entire scientific community. Revisions are part of the publication process to help improve the quality of submitted manuscripts. Peer review is an integral part of scientific publishing and confirms the validity of the reported science. Peer reviewers are experts who volunteer to help improve the submitted manuscripts. Manuscripts are assessed on the basis of presenting new insight(s) into the explored topic. It is assumed, upon submission, that all authors included in a manuscript have approved such submission. Received manuscripts will firstly be evaluated by the editorial board, and those lacking enough research ground or novelty may be rejected without an external reviewing process. The external review procedure usually takes an average of 1-2 months. Manuscripts that pass initial screening will be forwarded to the appropriate section editor. The section editor may suggest rejection based on fatal design flaws, inappropriate replications, lack of novelty, or other major concerns. If appropriate, the paper will be sent out for peer review, usually to two independent reviewers who will provide comments. The section editor may recommend rejection or acceptance at this point, after which the manuscript and reviewer comments are made available to the editor-in-chief for a final decision to the authors. The manuscript will be sent back to the corresponding author for revision according to the guidelines of the reviewers. Authors have six weeks to complete the revision, which shall be returned to the section editor. Revised versions of previously rejected manuscripts are treated as new submissions.
