Abstract

Composite materials have revolutionized material engineering in the modern era. The development of composite materials has allowed different designers to employ new and improved materials, which has reduced costs, increased efficiency, and improved resource usage. Throughout human history, composite materials have been crucial to sheltering early civilizations and permitting developments in the future. Among the many advantages that composites provide are strength, light weight, durability, corrosion resistance, and design flexibility. Composite materials find their usage in a variety of everyday items, including those utilized in construction, medicine, oil and gas, transportation, sports, the aerospace and automotive sectors, and many more. This article provides an overview of composite materials, a broad review of their types, an analysis of their benefits over traditional materials, and an outlook on the demand for and uses of composite materials in the future.
