Abstract

This research aims to study the effect of using chitosan and PVA in printing cotton fabrics with Reactive dyes to enhance their functional properties. The study investigates the impact of incorporating chitosan, a natural biopolymer, and PVA, as a flexible polymer, along with TiO2 nanoparticles, on the printability, color fastness, antimicrobial effects, and UV protection of cotton fabrics. The results demonstrate that the treated fabrics exhibit significant improvements in color fastness, UV protection, and antimicrobial activity, making them highly suitable for various textile applications. This research underscores the potential of using these materials to develop functional and protective cotton fabrics for diverse purposes.
